Choosing an Employment Lawyer or Solicitor
I understand that for most people, instructing an employment solicitor is not an everyday occurrence.
It can be daunting taking that first step to ask for help, especially if your job is at risk or if you are struggling with a situation at work. Worrying about how to get help (and, of course, what it might cost) just adds to the anxiety.
At LincsLaw Solicitors we are always mindful of the concerns our clients will have about fees. When I started the firm, I wanted to make sure clients understood they were in control and could decide how much or how little assistance they wanted. That is why our charges are set out openly and in full on our website at www.lincslaw.co.uk/services/employees/fees-funding-employees. Also, where possible, we break down our assistance into sections so clients only commit to the next agreed piece of work. This way, it gives you the choice of when and what help we provide.
Getting started couldn’t be easier. Just give me a ring on 01522 539501 and we’ll have a chat about your situation. I should be able to point you in the right direction and certainly say whether it is worth you booking in for a Fixed Fee Consultation. I don’t charge for this advice and you will speak to me or one of the other fully qualified, experienced lawyers. If this is all the help you need, then that is absolutely fine. If your situation requires further work, we will suggest a Fixed Fee Consultation.
A Fixed Fee Consultation is a face to face meeting. As the name suggests, the cost of the consultation is fixed at £240.00 (£200.00 plus vat) no matter how long the meeting takes. We go through the full background of your situation together, have a look at any paperwork from your employer, discuss next steps, identify any Employment Tribunal claims you may have and, then, estimate the value of those claims. Following our meeting I confirm my advice in writing.
Again, if a Fixed Fee Consultation is all the help you need, then no problem. If you require assistance at a disciplinary or grievance meeting, or representation at the Employment Tribunal we will go through your funding options. Depending upon your situation, we could be utilising a Legal Expenses Policy, we could agree a price for a particular piece of work, we could be using a “no win, no fee” agreement or a “success fee” agreement. Whatever the way forward, you are in control.
If you are struggling with a workplace problem or have been dismissed, call 01522 539501. For more information about our services and funding options, visit our website at lincslaw.co.uk/fees/employees/.
