Review From Settlement Agreement Client for Lucy Stones, Associate, Employment Solicitor

“I needed a solicitor for my Settlement Agreement. Lucy has been fantastic and provided me clear advice and consistent from the start to finish.”

Review From Disciplinary Procedure Client for Sally Hubbard, Managing Director, Employment Solicitor

“I had left my role having been placed at risk by my employer more than once. They initiated disciplinary procedures at that point preventing me from starting a new role and potentially placing my career at risk.

Sally has been with me on this long 9-month journey which has now concluded. Sally has been an unfaltering rock every step of the way in what has undoubtedly been one of the hardest times, if not the hardest time, of my life. When everything changed course in my in an instant as a result of my previous employer, work, house, relationships, finances, emotional well-being; Sally was a blessing getting me through and I put every faith in her. Sally was amazing in picking out the details from my rambling, patient when I bombarded her when my mind was too full. Sally saw the situation clearly and gave sound realistic advice. Sally is professional, reliable and inspires confidence when you need it the most. I can’t thank her enough.”

Review From Redundancy Client for Jasmine Stewart, Employment Solicitor

“My role was at risk of redundancy. Jasmine was approachable, empathetic, extremely professional, and very thorough. I was going through a very difficult time and the kindness, patience, empathy and support she provided was perfect. She answered all my questions with honesty and meticulous detail, and she really helped to put my mind at rest. Her advice was carefully considered throughout.”

Review From Settlement Agreement Client for Lucy Stones, Associate, Employment Solicitor

“My company offered me a settle agreement with clear cause. I had a case for unfair treatment in the workplace and they wished for me to leave. Lucy was very understanding and clearly explained everything to me. She helped me secure a better settlement agreement and handled everything on my behalf.”

Review From Settlement Agreement Client for Kathryn Bolton, Associate, Employment Solicitor

“I was unexpectedly offered a settlement agreement. I approached Kathryn after speaking to a friend who had a similar situation to myself and highly recommended her. I met Kathryn and we went through the offer and circumstances surrounding it, she offered several options and guided me through the pros and cons and costings of these routes, at no point was she pushy and certainly did not give the impression she was going through the motions. She even worked through her holiday on my case. Absolutely nothing could have been done better, Kathryn went above and beyond, very efficient and communication was very good and clear.”

Review From Settlement Agreement Client for Sophie Goodwill, Director, Employment Solicitor

“I was being made redundant and required advice regarding my situation and my Settlement Agreement. Sophie was brilliant, she was extremely knowledgeable and offered great advice regarding my redundancy situation. She was very efficient and communicated very effectively.”

Review From Performance Improvement Plan Client for Sally Hubbard, Managing Director, Employment Solicitor

“Sally listened, asked lots of questions and checked everything I shared with her to ensure she had a firm grasp of my situation. Sally was not only highly professional, but friendly and kind with a great sense of humour. She helped me to understand whilst I was worried, I was “a woman of a certain age”, my company had treated me in a way that was not acceptable and that I had grounds to pursue a financial settlement.

She walked me through my options and took time to understand my thoughts and feelings throughout the process. Often, I was conflicted – but Sally never made me feel anything other than valued and always gave me time to think things over. She reminded me of how working together should be and provided a safe environment to talk things through. She never made me feel I was wasting her time, or that I was being an idiot.

I changed my mind a couple of time on the outcome I wanted. Sally was understanding and wholly accommodated my needs. The company I worked for instructed an international employment firm to act on their behalf, Sally held her own and represented me in a way that made me proud to have chosen her and her company to represent me. I cannot recommend Sally and Lincs Law highly enough. Sally did everything she said she would and achieved everything I asked of her.”

Review From Settlement Agreement Client for Jasmine Stewart, Employment Solicitor

“I was made redundant from my job and required a solicitor to review my settlement agreement. Jasmine went through the agreement with me to ensure everything was clear and accurate and identified points to consider and be aware of. She followed up with the employer to ensure the signed agreement was received and kept in close contact with me throughout. Jasmine was brilliant – very helpful and very comforting given the unsettling nature of the situation for me.”

Review From Health & Safety and Disability Discrimination Client for Kathryn Bolton, Associate, Employment Solicitor

“I needed a solicitor for unfair dismissal due to health and safety concerns, also disability discrimination. Kathryn helped me by listening and understanding all of my concerns and gave sound advice all the way through to the end of my case. Kathryn is hard-working, committed, has a lot of patience. She is easy to talk to even when I was incredibly nervous, caring, extremely knowledgeable in employment law and other fields. Kathryn is amazing, I can’t speak highly enough of her. An absolute credit to the law firm.”

“I initially sought advice regarding various employment problems, including bullying and intimidation. Sophie was absolutely brilliant, very reassuring, and sympathetic to my concerns. The service was excellent, I cannot fault the company especially Jasmine Thank you for your service once again.”

Review From Settlement Agreement Client for Lucy Stones, Associate, Employment Solicitor

“A diverging approach to operations and governance in the business created the need for us to agree a settlement. Lucy was creative, conscientious, and thoughtful. Without her support I wouldn’t have had the confidence to sustain negotiations.”

Review From Settlement Agreement Client for Kathryn Bolton, Associate, Employment Solicitor

“I was in an uncomfortable position at work and potentially looking at an agreement. This was all new to me and I didn’t trust that they would follow the correct process so I wanted to find a Solicitor I could trust and would show empathy, which straight from the initial conversation, I felt Kathryn could and would do that. She explained the contract fully an in a way I could understand, she explored areas that the company could have worded the agreement better so that I could go back to them for clarification. And throughout all this she displayed an empathy and a human touch, at a time when I needed to feel I could trust someone. Through Kathryn’s thoroughness at reviewing the agreement and some of it’s ‘loose’ wording, I actually got more than anticipated. She was a joy to deal with. Very quick and efficient too.”

Review From Pregnancy Discrimination Client for Sophie Goodwill, Director, Employment Solicitor

“I needed help with pregnancy discrimination. Sophie has been great, she helped me realised what had happened to me was not right and that it was important to take matters further. Sophie helped with my confidence and legal support through our time together. Sophie was great throughout and I couldn’t imagine going through it with anyone else.”

Review From Disability Discrimination Client for Sally Hubbard, Managing Director, Employment Solicitor

“Sally Hubbard worked extremely hard throughout my case. There was a high amount of paperwork that needed thorough attention to be able to build my case, Sally step by step uncomplicated each part of my case to help form a strong and firm case against the opposition. Sally has advised me according to what will be in my best interest, even if this was impossible for me to see at the time. The amount of time and hard work Sally has put into my case is substantial. Sally’s strengths that stood out were her determination and her resilience. Despite how hectic the case got; Sally stood her ground. She has the skills and knowledge to do so which she has proven.

Thanks to Sally, I have received not only justice but accountability which was a big part of my case outcomes. Sally pushed and pushed till these outcomes were guaranteed. I can thankfully say Sally cares and strives to give her clients the best outcome they can possibly get.”

Review from Redundancy client for Sally Hubbard, Managing Director, Specialist Employment Solicitor

“I was put at risk of redundancy and needed advice on process and current legislation.

Sally helped me initially via a free telephone consultation. Her advice was professional yet friendly and reassuring and covered all the areas I needed to know about the situation I had found myself in. She covered off all the different areas of employment legislation that I needed to be aware of as I entered my “At Risk” consultation period with my employers. She put my mind at rest and was very useful to be able to speak to a legal expert at short notice and without cost for that initial advice. My confidence in Sally was such that I went on to instruct her to act on my behalf during the final stages of the redundancy process and completion of my Settlement Agreement.

Sally’s help meant I was able to speak to my employers with confidence about the process and the end result was very satisfactory”.

Review from Employment Tribunal client for Sophie Goodwill, Director, Specialist Employment Solicitor

“I had been in long term employment with the same company for over 24 years. Another Management team came in and decided the company needed a shake up even though it was running extremely well. Straight away their mission was move on long term employees earning too much money and by changing their job roles and also trying to change their contracts at work. As a result of this, many of the long-term staff sadly did leave.

I tried my hardest to be happy and enjoy my job, but after constant harassment from the new management team, I decided for the sake of my health I could not do this anymore as I was taking my moods home and it was affecting my family’s life.

Upon leaving, I consulted a lawyer in which I spent an awful lot of money, but sadly this was my biggest mistake as I should have done some homework in employing a solicitor who specialises in Employment Law. I was recommended Sophie Goodwill. I started off with a Fixed Fee Consultation and passed on all my previous paperwork I had collated with previous solicitor.

I was so surprised to hear from Sophie a few days later saying that she thought I had a very strong case. Sophie was professional and more than anything was on the ball. I did need to do further work from my end to help Sophie with the case and I was so happy because this time I felt confident we would have a result at the end of it.

Sophie has kept in touch throughout this difficult ordeal, and finally we had some great news just a few days ago. My former employer’s lawyer has been in touch with Sophie and asked if we could settle out of court.

I owe an awful lot to Sophie. This has been my bittersweet case. Bitter because if I had Sophie fighting my corner from the off, it would have saved me so much money. The sweet part of it is that Sophie won my legal battle in half the time and that we managed to win an out of court settlement …………….. Thank You Sophie.

Sophie made me feel there was something to fight for and gave me and my family some self-belief. I was very happy with the outcome”.

Review from Disciplinary Procedure client for Lucy Stones, Associate, Specialist Employment Solicitor

“Accusations regarding my conduct had been made to my employer by colleagues. My employers were intent upon upholding the allegations rather than finding against them.

Lucy gave clear, honest, and practical advice throughout. She clearly explained the options available to me. Always professional but friendly and supportive throughout. She did exactly what she said she would do, often ahead of schedule. I would highly recommend Lucy. My experience was highly unpleasant and having the support of Lucy made it bearable.

The outcome was better than expected. Unfortunately returning to work for my employers was probably not the best plan.

I cannot think of anything more I either expected or would have wanted”.

Review from Withheld Wages client for Kathryn Bolton, Associate, Specialist Employment Solicitor

“My employer was unlawfully deducting wages.

Kathryn took the time to listen to all of the complicated issues. She understood immediately what was going on and was able to give me excellent guidance and advice. I am very pleased with the outcome.

Kathryn was excellent in how she dealt my case. She took care and attention to the details and did not labour every conversation about her costs which I really appreciated”.

Review from Ill Health Retirement client for Sally Hubbard, Managing Director, Specialist Employment Solicitor

“I had to leave work on medical grounds. Sally listened and was brilliant in her approach and advice at a time I was really upset and was so confused as to what to do. She made me feel at ease and helped me in a very difficult situation for me.

My advice was good. The speed in which I was contacted was amazing, Well done to Sally and her team for an excellent job and guidance”.

Review from Settlement Agreement client for Sophie Goodwill, Director, Specialist Employment Solicitor

I had to negotiate a settlement agreement to terminate my employment. Sophie gave clear and efficient advice on the settlement agreement after explaining its terms thoroughly. Sophie helped negotiating the pay-out successfully.

Everything was dealt with very quickly and efficiently”.

Review from Redundancy client for Lucy Stones, Associate, Specialist Employment Solicitor

“After 7.5 years in a senior position as Head of Business Consultancy I was made redundant. The outcome of the process had in my view been pre-determined and my treatment by the business was offhand, dismissive and unfair.

Lucy gave clear, honest, and practical advice at all stages of the process. She was extremely helpful in setting out the options available to me and was clear about the up and down sides of each. She was available when I needed to speak to her and engaged a professional but friendly and supportive tone throughout. She was easy to work with and extremely good at doing what she said she would do, when she said she would do it, which helped immensely when working through this really unpleasant set of circumstances. I highly recommend Lucy.

I have achieved the outcome I was hoping for, in full and with bells”.

Review from Settlement Agreement client for Kathryn Bolton, Associate, Specialist Employment Solicitor

“Kathryn listened carefully to my request for assistance with regard to a settlement agreement for termination of contract; explained carefully the legal aspects of the situation; explained what options I had; completed the legal requirements and documentation, and dealt directly with my employer to ensure the settlement agreement was completed as soon as possible.

I could not have wished for a better service”.

Review from Bullying and Harassment client for Sally Hubbard, Managing Director, Specialist Employment Solicitor

“I believed I was being bullied at work and sought advice. Sally confirmed that indeed I had grounds to believe it, given my employers’ actions. Sally advised on what action I could take, and likely outcome.

“I had lost my employment tribunal case and I was looking for advice about the next steps I should take.

Review from Redundancy client for Sophie Goodwill, Director, Specialist Employment Solicitor

“I was unfairly made redundant. Sophie advised of where I stood, legally, in terms of my position.

Although I didn’t get the outcome I wanted, this was not due any shortfalls from Lincs Law. I was advised clearly from day one of the risks, and most importantly to me, as I had just been made redundant, where I stood in terms of costs, and costs for ‘next steps’. Very professional. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone that requires employment advice.

Everything was very clear, every step of the way, throughout”.

Review from Settlement Agreement client for Lucy Stones, Associate, Specialist Employment Solicitor

“I required legal advice on a settlement agreement and in addition asked Lucy to negotiate the financial terms of the settlement agreement on my behalf.

Lucy provided excellent legal advice on the draft settlement my employer provided. We reviewed each clause of the agreement and Lucy proposed changes that were in my best interests, the majority of which my employer accepted. Lucy also carried out the negotiation of the financial terms within the settlement agreement. Lucy provided clear advice on the various options open to me and drafted responses and counter proposals to my employer that were vital in reaching a satisfactory outcome.

The settlement agreement was finalised and the financial settlement was more than I would have received without Lucy’s advice and support.

I was very happy with the advice and support I received from Lucy, particularly in the financial negotiation with my employer”.

Review from Unfair Dismissal client for Sophie Goodwill, Director, Specialist Employment Solicitor

“Sophie has helped me tirelessly from start to finish with the entirety of my legal proceedings. Sophie made sure that my claim / relevant documents were submitted on time to ensure we could continue and not make any silly mistakes. My instructions were always followed but I would often receive advice on different ways we could approach certain subjects to improve our chances of success. In times where I would be frustrated or angry at the circumstances, Sophie would keep a level head and help me refocus on the task in hand, also making sure I always fully understood the impact any of my decisions may have on my case. Sophie made sure that I had full understanding of any documents or events that we were dealing with, there was never any surprises. Finally, Sophie gave me hope during a time where everyone was trying to take it away from me. It was refreshing for someone to believe me 100%, this support helped me through some very dark times.

Review from Discrimination client for Lucy Stones, Associate, Specialist Employment Solicitor

“I had a situation at work which resulted in me raising a Formal Grievance. Due to the nature of the grievance I needed support and guidance to understand my position both legally and personally. It was a very difficult time emotionally, mentally and physically. I decided to look for legal representation online and found a blog that was relative to my situation.

From the outset Lucy had my wellbeing as number one priority, whilst ensuring I received the legal guidance and advice relative to my circumstances. It was more than what I had hoped for”.

“Jasmine went through all my contracts and agreements I had with my actual employer. She took time to read them all and then ask me to clarify all the details and working aspects. Very professional, supportive, very friendly. She pays attention to all the small details of the matter.

Jasmine did a fantastic job, quick and to the point. She didn’t waste my time nor my money. If life will bring me more challenges, she will be the one I will contact first”.

Review from Voluntary Redundancy client for Sally Hubbard, Managing Director, Specialist Employment Solicitor

“Sally advised me on the Settlement Agreement I had been offered. Although I was keen to sign the Agreement offered, Sally scrutinised the Agreement and saw how some ambiguous wording could be improved upon to make things crystal clear. My employers were in agreement with Sally and took on board her suggestions and amended the wording.

There is nothing else Sally could have done. I am pleased that I chose to consult a specialist solicitor, rather than a general practice”.

Review from Settlement Agreement client for Sophie Goodwill, Director, Specialist Employment Solicitor

“She was a tremendous help right from the off, I cannot speak highly enough on her capability and competence to undertake the role I engaged her. Sophie’s advice, progression, pace and above all deliverance was excellent. We achieved what we required, through Sophie’s strong attention to detail and determination to get the right result we achieved a good result.

It is rare that I cannot find constructive feedback and areas in which to improve upon, but I have to say I cannot detail anything that would help enhance her personal development – she is a credit to her company”.

“I initially made an appointment with Sophie as I felt incidents beyond my control caused my dismissal. During the initial consultation, Sophie gave me reassurance that this was most likely correct. She took extensive notes and guided me on the next steps to take in appealing the dismissal. After the appeal was upheld, she provided advice on how to move forward with this through ACAS Conciliation and lodging a Disability Discrimination claim with the Employment Tribunal. At all steps, throughout the distressing formal process, Sophie provided guidance and reassurance that a positive outcome was most likely.

There was nothing she could have done better. A professional advocate, who genuinely cares about her clients”.

Once I had finished explaining everything to her, she then provided me with clear advice on what to do next and what my chances were should I bring a claim forward. Lucy really helped me. I couldn’t have done it without her.”

Review from Performance Management Procedure client for Sally Hubbard, Managing Director, Specialist Employment Solicitor

“Sally initially provided me with a free consultation call, during which she advised me to take a particular course of action to protect my position. This was something that neither of the two other solicitors (from other firms who I also had free initial consultation calls with) advised me to do, and it proved to be the correct advice. Throughout the whole process, Sally provided solid and comprehensive legal advice, was always honest about potential scenario outcomes, and provided sound strategies for dealing with the matter in hand.

One very important service that Sally also provided was that of emotional support, providing a sympathetic ear and always having my mental and physical wellbeing as a priority. For an individual to take on their employer (part of a large corporate) can be a daunting task – Sally fully understands the gambit of emotions that can entail and manages to provide positive support in an excellent manner”.

I could not have wished for a better service.”
