My Client’s Story
My client first came to me for a Fixed Fee Consultation because they had been invited to a Protected Conversation with their employer. My client was, understandably, confused, and anxious about this process.
During our appointment, I took a comprehensive background from my client and advised them as to their legal position and options moving forward. I also explained the nature of a Protected Conversation and that the employer would be looking for a “deal” for my client to leave their employment. My client was able to use this advice to assist them negotiate a suitable exit package.
My client then instructed me in respect of their Settlement Agreement (a formal contract which sets out the terms for an employee and employer to part ways). In that appointment, we went through the Settlement Agreement in detail. I advised my client of their obligations and responsibilities under the Settlement Agreement and ensured that their interests were properly protected.
