I recently assisted a client in respect of their employment concerns. I was delighted to be to achieve a positive outcome for them. Please read on for more information.
My client came to me having recently been dismissed. She was, understandably, very shocked and concerned about her dismissal and about her treatment by her employer. I was able to assist my client in three ways:-
Free Telephone Enquiry
At Lincs Law Employment Solicitors, we offer a free, no obligation telephone call to anyone who is facing employment problems. During this free telephone call, I listened to my client’s concerns as she explained that she had been dismissed. She advised that she had appealed her dismissal but, unfortunately, her appeal had been rejected. She was unsure of the options available to her moving forward.
In our free telephone call, I gave her some initial advice and suggested that if she required a detailed assessment as to her legal position, I would be able to assist her by way of Fixed Fee Consultation.
Fixed Fee Consultation
I then met with my client for a Fixed Fee Consultation. A Fixed Fee Consultation is a stand-alone appointment of unlimited duration but for a fixed fee. More information about Fixed Fee Consultations and our costs is available from our website at https://lincslaw.co.uk/fees/employees/
During our Fixed Fee Consultation, I took a comprehensive background of my client’s employment. This included the issues she had faced, and the process concerning her dismissal. As part of my assessment, I outlined what her current and potential employment law claims were; as well undertaking a wider assessment to understand what her desired outcome was and how best we could achieve this.
After our conversation, I provided her with a detailed letter confirming our discussions and my advice. This included my suggested next steps she should take to put her in the best possible position.
Settlement Agreement
My client was able to use my advice letter to initiate settlement discussion with her employer through ACAS Early Conciliation. I was delighted when my client confirmed that she received an offer of settlement.
The next stage was to have a Settlement Agreement appointment. A further appointment was arranged whereby I went through each clause in the agreement and explain the nature and effect of that clause to my client.
For more information on Settlement Agreements, please see our website https://lincslaw.co.uk/services/settlement-agreement/
It was important to my client that her legal costs were carefully managed and proportionate. Both the Fixed Fee Consultation and Settlement Agreement appointments were completed by way of a fixed cost.
I was delighted that I was able to assist my client in achieving a positive outcome.
