I was delighted to receive a five-star review from my client who I assisted in their claim for unlawful deduction from wages.
My client had training fees deducted from their final salary payment. I did not consider the deduction to be authorised by statute or by my client’s contract and my client had given no prior consent to the deduction. On that basis a claim for unlawful deduction from wages was made to the Employment Tribunal. The employer then decided to issue a claim against my client in the County Court to recover the remainder of the training fees. I prepared my client’s defence to that claim and in the end, both sets of proceedings were settled to my client’s satisfaction.
My client left the following review:
What were the circumstances that caused you to look for a legal adviser?
Unlawful deduction of wages.
How did Kathryn Bolton help you?
Provided options of potential claims and advice. Helped with negotiations during the early concillation stage with ACAS and writing defence for County Court case that the employer brought against me.
Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?
What could they have done better?
Nothing. Kathryn was there for support and guidance whenever needed. Did everything that was asked.
