My Client’s Story
My client was dismissed without notice for allegedly breaching health, safety and welfare standards at work. In fact, his dismissal was motivated by the fact he was a whistle-blower and had made disclosures about the unlawful behaviour of his colleagues. The case was complicated and involved reams of investigative paperwork, all of which needed to be thoroughly reviewed. The employer was adamant they were fair in their actions and simply refused to engage in early settlement discussions.
My client instructed me to lodge proceedings in the Employment Tribunal for automatic unfair dismissal by reason of being a whistle-blower. Once we teased out the technical specifics of why his dismissal was unfair (through careful view of the disclosure documents) we were able to engage in meaningful settlement discussions.
My client was able to settle his claim without need to attend a final hearing. He received a compensation package and agreed reference as part of the agreement. His five star review is set out below.
