I was delighted to assist my client when he had been badly treated by his employer after service to the country.
My Client’s Story
My client had returned to his company following deployment, only to be told his managerial position had been given to another employee (resulting in his de facto demotion) and his new position was at risk of redundancy.
He had been offered an exit package to agree the termination of his employment and sign a Settlement Agreement waiving his rights and claims. At that time, he had a different solicitor who had advised him to accept. A friend suggested he instruct me for a second opinion.
How I Helped
We went through the background of his matter in detail. I advised my client that the exit package offer was inadequate. I also advised on his likely claims at the Employment Tribunal and before the Reinstatement Committee. I gave an estimate of the value of his claims, which was far in excess of the Settlement Agreement offer being made.
We agreed a “Plan A” setting out a strategy and list of actions for him to undertake. I was delighted when, as consequence of our plan, my client received a much more generous exit package which was over three times the value of original offer.
