Incredible to think, but five years ago we opened the doors at Lincs Law Employment Solicitors. Read on as we reflect on all that has happened since we began the firm.
Five years ago we had an idea. We thought there was a need for a bespoke, sensible, clear and reasonably priced employment law service. However, we knew that what we offered and our way of working would be a little different. We hoped clients would like how we did things, but we could not be sure. We had enthusiasm, experience, knowledge and a kettle (very important) but we were very nervous about what the future would hold.
A lot has happened since those first few days and we honestly couldn’t have predicted that five years later we would have:-
- achieved £9,000,676 in compensation for our clients.
- had clients reinstated to their employment; secured reasonable adjustments to help our disabled clients at work; had disciplinary and performance management procedures against our clients withdrawn; and, achieved hundreds of other victories which had nothing to do with money but helped people when they needed it most.
- seven dedicated and specialist employment law solicitors and barristers. We believe this makes Lincs Law one of the largest employment law teams in the region. Also, we suspect, one of the most experienced with a combined 80 years of post-qualification specialist employment law experience between us.
I can’t pretend it was all plain sailing and everything went to plan. I/we are only human after all and we have had our share of problems over the last five years. For instance, the last six months have been interesting…. That being said, we have the most fantastic clients as our reviews and wall of thank you cards demonstrate (we still have the cards, however, the wine and chocolates disappeared very quickly). Nothing makes us happier than getting a good result for our clients.
For all that has changed since those first days five years ago – much has stayed the same. We still want to help people; we still understand the physical and emotional toil problems at work can take; and, we still get excited when we get the results our clients want. As we blow out the candles on our individual coronavirus safe cakes, we are looking forward to the next five years. We thank our wonderful clients, past, present and future for choosing us.
